COVID-19 Relief - Online BV Training GD

The COVID-19 pandemic and its devastating impact has taken a terrible toll globally. It is particularly sad that our country has not been spared either; despite its economic might.    30 million Americans have filed initial unemployment claims since mid-March and all 50 states reported a rise in unemployment, with widespread layoffs reported in almost all sectors of the economy.

While all of us feel the impact of the novel coronavirus, the burden falls most heavily on those who have been marginalized in our society.  Restaurant workers, gig workers and other hourly workers are facing unprecedented economic hardship from the coronavirus crisis. Now it’s our turn to serve them.

We request that the Guru Dakshina that you offer for this 12-week-long Balavihar Training be made out to CORDUSA specifically tagged for the COVID-19 Relief efforts using this link or the button below.  Please note that with CORD USA, 100% of your donations directly to those in need independent of their race, color, immigration status, age, sex, religion or disability. You will also be able to take advantage of your employers matching funds when you donate through CORDUSA and double your impact. Let us rise to the occasion and make a difference during these extraordinary times!

About the organizations we support through your Guru Dakshina:

One Fair Wage is an organization who advocates for restaurant workers to end the sub-minimum wage for tip workers. Their COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund provides cash assistance to service workers affected by this pandemic, be it due to losing their job or work hours. 100% of donations to their COVID-19 emergency fund goes to workers affected by COVID-19.  Read more about this organization at https://ofwemergencyfund.org/

National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA) is an advocacy organization promoting the rights of domestic workers in the United States. As you may know, the vast majority of domestic workers in the US are women of color and more than 50% are immigrants - most of whom are ineligible for much of the existing government relief. 100% of their Coronavirus Care Fund is offering relief payments to domestic workers (nannies, home health aides, and housecleaners) affected by the COVID-19 crisis.  Read more about this organization at  https://www.domesticworkers.org/
